Pharmacological action
Antacids. Neutralizes free hydrochloric (hydrochloric) acid, which reduces the peptic activity of gastric juice. It does not cause secondary hypersecretion. It has also absorbent and protective action, reducing the effects of disturbing factors on the mucosa.

Testimony
- Gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase;

Dosage regimen
Adults the drug is prescribed for 1-2 tab. or 15 ml (1 tablespoon) suspension 3-4 times / day after 1-2 hours after meals and at bedtime.
At reflux esophagitis The drug is taken through a short period of time after eating. The duration of intake should not exceed 2-3 Months.
At Intermittent application (eg, when discomfort after errors in diet) Take 1-2 tab. or 15 ml suspension once.
Side effect
From the digestive system: rarely – constipation, nausea, vomiting, change in taste.
Other: long-term use and impaired renal function – increasing levels of magnesium and / or aluminum in the blood, deficiency of phosphorus in the body, encephalopathy; the elderly – exacerbation of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, Alzheimer.
Contraindications
- Expressed by the human kidney;
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Pregnancy and lactation
Not recommended to prescribe the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breast-feeding).
Cautions
Caution must be a 2-hour interval between doses Maalox and other drugs.
