Pharmacological action

Antacid. Neutralize the excess hydrochloric acid, without causing secondary hypersecretion. It has absorbent and protective action. Relieves heartburn and pain in giperatsidnyh states.

Absorption – low.

Testimony

Gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase, acute gastritis, hyperacid gastritis, erosive and ulcerative ezofagogastroduodenit, hastroэzofahealnыy reflux, hiatal hernia, functional intestinal lesions, colitis, heartburn, discomfort, epigastric pain, when errors in the diet.

Dosage regimen

Establish individually. In diseases of the esophagus, stomach or duodenum take medication after eating, in diseases of the bowel – before meals.

Side effect

From the digestive system: constipation, change in taste, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

From the laboratory parameters: long-term use in high doses – increasing the concentration of aluminum in the blood, gipofosfatemiя, hypocalcemia.

From the urinary system: renal failure; Chronic administration of high doses – hypercalciuria, impairment of renal function, nephrocalcinosis; in patients with concomitant renal failure – thirst, decrease in blood pressure, giporefleksiя.

Other: long-term use in high doses – osteomalacia, osteoporosis, encephalopathy.

Contraindications

Renal failure, Alzheimer's disease, gipofosfatemiя, pregnancy, Hypersensitivity to algeldratu.

Cautions

To use caution in renal disease. In patients with renal insufficiency during treatment may algeldrata thirst, decrease in blood pressure, giporefleksiя.

Do not use in patients with a higher concentration of aluminum in the blood (a risk factor for the development or worsening of the disease of Alzheimer's), and constipation.

With prolonged use is necessary to ensure intake of sufficient amounts of phosphorus.

The absorption of aluminum increases while receiving acidic beverages (fruit juices, wine).

Drug Interactions

Preparations aluminum, which are used as antacids, interact with most medicines for oral administration either by adjusting the pH of gastric juice and rapid gastric emptying, or by adsorption to form complexes, that are not absorbed.

With simultaneous use of citrate, ascorbic acid increases absorption of aluminum from the gastrointestinal tract.
