Pharmaceutical form, composition and packaging

Oral suspension (Mint) viscous, opaque, from almost white to cream-colored, with mint odor.

Excipients: karʙomer, metilparagidroksiʙenzoat, propilparagidroksibenzoat, sodium saccharin, peppermint oil, Sodium hydroxide, Purified water.

Pharmacological action

Antacids. After intake of the drug quickly interacts with acidic contents of the stomach. When alginate gel, preventing the occurrence of gastro-oesophageal reflux. When the regurgitation of gel are more likely, than the content of the stomach, enters the esophagus, where reduces irritation of mucous membrane.

Dosage regimen

The drug is prescribed inside adults and children over 12 years by 10-20 ml after meals and at bedtime. The maximum daily dose – 80 ml.

Babies 6-12 years appoint 5-10 ml after meals and at bedtime. The maximum daily dose – 40 ml.

To elderly patients dose modification is not required.

 

Side effect

Rarely: allergic reactions.

 

Contraindications

- Children up to age 6 years;

- Hypersensitivity to the drug.

 

Pregnancy and lactation

Application of Geviskona in pregnancy and lactation (breast-feeding).

 

Cautions

IN 10 ml of suspension contains 141 mg (6.2 mmol) sodium. This should be taken into account when the need to respect a diet with limited salt content (congestive heart failure, renal impairment).
