Characteristic.

The white crystalline powder. Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, ether, xloroforme, vegetable oils. Maloustoychiv to light, easily oxidized.

Pharmacological action.
Regulatory calcium-phosphorus metabolism.

Application.

Rickets (Prevention and treatment), spasmophilia, osteomalacia, metabolic osteopathy (gipoparatireoz, psevdogipoparatireoz), hypocalcemia, tetany, osteoporosis, slow formation of callus (for fractures), the loss of calcium in bones and teeth.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, calcium nefrourolitiaz, prolonged immobilization (large doses), active forms of pulmonary tuberculosis.

Restrictions apply.

Organic heart disease, Acute and chronic liver and kidney disease, gastrointestinal diseases, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, pregnancy, gipotireoz, advanced age.

Side effects.

Headache, gastrointestinal disorders, irritation of the kidneys, exacerbation of tuberculosis in the lungs.

Cooperation.

Overdose.

With high sensitivity and an overdose can occur hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria and symptoms, they caused, -cardiac arrhythmias, nausea, vomiting, headache, weakness, irritability, weight loss, excessive thirst, frequent urination, the formation of kidney stones, nephrocalcinosis, calcification of soft tissues, anorexia, arterial hypertension, constipation, renal failure. In chronic poisoning-demineralisation of the bones, calcium deposition in the kidneys, vessels, heart, light, intestine, organ dysfunction, which can lead to death.

Treatment: cancellation kolekaltsiferola, corticosteroids, Vitamin E, magnesium products, Potassium, ascorbic acid, retinol, tiamina.

Dosing and Administration.

Inside, appointment of prophylactic daily dose is 1000-2000 IU. V/m is 200000 ME. To prevent rickets-200000-400000 IU 1 once every 6 Months (to 5 years). Treatment of rickets, spasmophilia gipocalziemii- 200000 IU per week for 2 Sun (with the addition of calcium salts); osteomalation and osteoporosis — 200000 IU every 15 day within 3 Months. To prevent attacks of tetany appoint to 1000000 IU per day.

Precautions.

When prophylactic use is necessary to bear in mind the possibility of an overdose, especially in children (should not appoint more than 10-15 mg per year). During treatment, mandatory monitoring of the content of calcium in the blood and urine (especially in combination with thiazide diuretics).
