Pharmaceutical form, composition and packaging

◊ Cream for external application 0.2% white or white with a yellowish tint, odorless or with a faint characteristic odor.

Excipients: macrogol tsetostearat, cetostearyl alcohol, Liquid paraffin (Oil vaseline), propylene glycol, dexpanthenol (D-panthenol), sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, Purified water.

Pharmacological action

Dermatoprotektorny drug. Zinc pyrithione has anti-, antibacterial and antifungal activity. Antibacterial activity of zinc pyrithione has been reported for a number of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp. Zinc pyrithione reduces the intracellular level of ATP, It promotes cell membrane depolarization, causing the death of fungi and bacteria. Antifungal activity is especially pronounced under the action of Pityrosporum ovale and Pityrosporum orbiculare, causing inflammation and excessive flaking dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and other skin diseases. The mechanism of anti-inflammatory effect has not been studied.
