Pharmacological action

Means, regulating the motility of the gastrointestinal tract. It is believed, that the effect is due to the influence of trimebutine on opioid receptors gastrointestinal tract.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption from the digestive tract — fast. TC_max - 1-2. Rapidly excreted by the kidneys (70% during 1 d).

Testimony

For oral and rectal: symptomatic treatment of pain, associated with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract.

For parenteral administration: symptomatic treatment of pain manifestations in the functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract; treatment of postoperative paralytic ileus, and in preparation for the X-ray and endoscopic examinations.

Dosage regimen

Individual. Суточная доза для приема внутрь – до 300 mg, ректально – 100-200 mg. В/м или в/в разовая доза – 50 mg, the frequency and duration of application depend on the clinical situation.

In children, the dose is set according to age.

Side effect

Maybe: allergic skin reactions; при в/в введении – кратковременные обмороки.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to trimebutine.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Not recommended during pregnancy and lactation (breast-feeding).

Cautions

It should strictly observe the relevant dosage form to the application.

Drug Interactions

Concomitant use can lengthen zotepine anticholinergic effects. Trimebutine prolongs the action of d-tubocurarine.
