Pharmaceutical form, composition and packaging

◊ Nasal drops and eye in the form of a transparent, colorless liquid.

Excipients: boric acid, sodium chloride, methylparaben, sterile water.

Pharmacological action

Combined product for local use in ophthalmology and ENT-practice. Has anti-allergic and sossoudossouerveshchee effect.

Нафазолин – альфа₂-adrenomimetik, provides rapid, expressed and prolonged sossoudossouerveshchee effect; reduces puffiness, hyperemia and exudative manifestations by the mucous membranes. Facilitates nasal breathing in rhinitis. Through 5-7 days of tolerance arises.

Антазолин – блокатор гистаминовых H₁-receptors, has anti-allergic, anti-edematous action.

Testimony

- Coryza (particularly allergic);

- Rhinorrhea;

- Allergic conjunctivitis (as an additional means).

Dosage regimen

Adults appoint 2-3 drops in each nostril 3-4 times / day; by 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac 3-4 times / day.

Babies appoint 1-2 drops in each nostril 3-4 times / day.

The drug is used for a short time, no more 1 of the week. Then you need to take a break for a few days.

Side effect

Local reactions: reaktivnaя giperemiя, swelling of the nasal mucosa; irritation; when using more 1 недели – отек слизистой оболочки носа.

Systemic reactions: nausea, tachycardia, headache, irritability, allergic reactions, skin rash, increased blood pressure.

Contraindications

- Arterial hypertension;

- Expressed atherosclerosis;

- Gipotireoz;

- Chronic rhinitis;

- Diabetes;

- Tachycardia;

- Simultaneous reception of MAO inhibitors and the period up to 14 days after their cancellation;

- Children up to age 2 years;

- Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and lactation

Cautions

The drug may cause resorptive effect.

With prolonged use of the severity of the vasoconstrictor action is gradually reduced (the phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), therefore recommend that through 5-7 days of take a break for a few days.

Overdose

Symptoms: reduction of body temperature, lethargy, drowsiness, bradycardia, increased blood pressure.

Treatment: if necessary, symptomatic therapy.

Drug Interactions

While applying the drug slows down the absorption of local anaesthetic drugs.

In case of simultaneous use of MAO inhibitors increase the risk of developing expressed arterial hypertension (due to the release of Catecholamines deposited under the influence of nafazolina) and intensify the effect antazolina (by slowing down its metabolism in the liver).
