Characteristic.
Peripherally acting antitussive. White or almost white crystalline powder.
Pharmacological action.
Antitussive, antispasmodic, mestnoanesteziruyuschee.
Application.
Dry cough (acute and chronic bronchitis, inflammation of the upper respiratory tract is laryngitis, pharyngitis; bronchopneumonia, bronchial asthma, эmfizema); preparation for bronchoscopy and bronhografii (in combination with atropine).
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity, exacerbation of COPD disease (bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis), accompanied by the presence of a viscous secretion trudnootdelyaemogo or copious sputum (incl. in the postoperative period following inhalation anesthesia).
Pregnancy and breast-feeding.
To use caution during pregnancy.
Side effects.
Numbness, dryness of mucous membranes of the mouth and throat, nausea, diarrhea, allergic reactions (skin rash, angioedema).
Dosing and Administration.
Inside, without chewing (avoid numbness of the oral mucosa), 3-4 Times daily: adults — usually 100 mg (in severe cases, 200 mg), children - depending on age and body weight, usually at 25-50 mg. In preparation for bronchoscopy: for 1 h before investigation-0.9-3.8 mg/kg, in combination with 0.5-1 mg of atropine.
