Characteristic.

Macrolide antibiotics, produced radiant fungus Streptomyces antibioticus or other related pathogens. Crystalline powder or porous mass of white or white with a yellowish tint, bitter taste. Easily soluble in water, soluble in dilute acids, is highly soluble in ethanol, hygroscopic.

Pharmacological action.
Antibacterial, bacteriostatic.

Application.

Pneumonia, pleurisy, lung abscess, empyema, ʙronxoektazii, tonsillitis, otitis, scarlet fever, Diphtheria, pertussis, trachoma, protracted endocarditis, meningitis, sepsis (staphylococcal, streptococcal, pneumococcal), osteomyelitis, furunculosis, gonorrhea, enterocolitis, urinary and biliary tract (if not amazed liver parenchyma) and other diseases, caused by microorganisms, sensitive to oleandomycin, incl. when resistance to other antibiotics (especially penicillins).

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity, parenchymal liver.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Side effects.

Allergic reactions (itching, hives, angioedema), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Cooperation.

Acceptable combination with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, Nystatin, sulьfanilamidami.

Dosing and Administration.

Inside, после еды по 0,25–0,5 г 4–6 раз в сутки. Higher doses for adults: single - 0,5 g, daily - 2 g. Higher daily doses for children: to 3 years - 0,02 g / kg, from 3 to 6 лет — 0,25–0,5 г, from 6 to 14 лет — 0,5–1 г, senior 14 лет — 1–1,5 г. The course of treatment - 5-7 days.

Precautions.
