Pharmacological action.

Methyl salicylate is a salicylic acid derivative and has a local irritant. Irritation skin receptors, methyl salicylate, leads to the formation and ejection of blood into a large number of biologically active substances, that regulate pain sensitivity. There is a release of substance P from neuronal. Reducing the accumulation of substance P in the nerve endings resulting in pain reduction. Besides, methyl salicylate, which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins due to inhibition of cyclooxygenase, that reduces swelling and infiltration of the inflamed tissue.

Anti-inflammatory pain reliever. Non-selectively inhibit cyclooxygenase, reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins. It normalizes the increased capillary permeability, improves microcirculation, reduces swelling and infiltration of inflammatory tissue. It has only local effect.
