Pharmacological action

The pharmacological action of the drug Laktofiltrum^® due to the properties of its constituent active ingredients – lignin and lactulose.

Lignin gidroliznyi – Natural enterosorbent, hydrolysis products consisting of wood components, It has high sorption activity and non-specific detoxication effect. It binds in the intestines and excrete pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, medications, salts of heavy metals, alcohol, allergens, and excess of certain metabolic products, incl. bilirubin, cholesterol, histamine, Serotonin, Urea, other metabolites, responsible for the development of endogenous toxemia.

Lactulose – synthetic disaccharide, molecule consists of galactose and fructose residues. In the colon lactulose as substrate fermented by the intestinal microflora, stimulating the growth of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. Hydrolysis of lactulose in the colon produced organic acid – dairy, acetic and formic acid inhibits the growth of pathogens and thereby reduce the production of nitrogen-containing toxic substances. The described process leads to an increase in osmotic pressure within the lumen of colon and stimulate peristalsis.

Pharmacokinetics
