Intestinal bacteria affect the development of obesity

According to a new study by scientists from the Royal College of London's diversity and structural characteristics of intestinal bacteria can affect the level of body fat, BBC News.

In the study, the researchers analyzed bacteria in samples of feces 3600 twins and found, some of them were inherited tested. This partially explains the fact, that obesity can affect several generations of one family.

By comparing the data obtained with six different rates of obesity, including body mass index and body fat views, researchers have identified a link between a variety of intestinal bacteria and the amount of fat in the body. So, Parties with lots of different kinds of bacteria in the gut have lower levels of visceral fat.

Because the study was observational in nature, scientists cannot yet say exactly, How intestinal bacteria affect education body fat or weight gain is associated with other processes in the body, explains study author Dr. Michelle Beaumont (Michelle Beaumont).

One of the theories, the lack of diversity of faecal bacteria could lead to domination of one of the types of, which most effectively turns carbohydrates into fat. Increase diversity would help a balanced diet, finds Michelle Beaumont. But, to determine the role of intestinal bacteria in the development of obesity, more research is needed.

As previously reported, in 2016 year starts research on what, How can you treat obesity by using intestinal bacteria.
