Pharmacological action

Stimulator of cartilage tissue regeneration in joints (chondroprotector). Chondroitin sulfate is a high molecular weight mucopolysaccharide, which is obtained from the cartilage of the trachea of cattle. It affects the metabolic processes in hyaline and fibrocartilage, reduces degenerative changes in the cartilage tissue of the joints, stimulates the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans in chondrocytes. Suppresses enzyme activity, causing damage to cartilage tissue, promotes regeneration of the joint capsule and cartilage surfaces of the joints, increases the production of synovial fluid. Improves calcium-phosphorus metabolism and reduces the loss of calcium in cartilage tissue, slows down bone resorption, normalizes metabolism in hyaline tissue, accelerates regeneration processes. Structurally close to heparin, prevents the formation of fibrin thrombi in the synovial and subchondral microvasculature. As a result of exposure, pain decreases and the mobility of the affected joints increases..

Dimethyl sulfoxide, part of the ointment, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and fibrinolytic action, promotes better penetration of chondroitin sulfate through cell membranes into tissues.

Chondroitin-AKOS ointment has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, normalizes metabolism and stimulates recovery processes in the tissues of the joints, leads to a decrease and disappearance of pain in the joints, an increase in joint mobility and a slowdown in the progression of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis.
