Characteristic.

The white crystalline powder, bitter taste.

Pharmacological action.
Protivoprotozoynymi, antimalarial, anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive.

Application.

Malaria, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, collagenoses, bronchial asthma, Sjogren syndrome.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity (incl. other aminoquinoline), liver, kidney, bone marrow, CNS and heart, retinal pathology, psychosis, porphyria, pregnancy, lactation, childhood (excludes long-term therapy).

Pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Contraindicated in pregnancy.

Side effects.

Ataxia, anxiety, irritability, emotional lability, headache, dizziness, noise in ears, nistagmo, convulsions, ccomodation, corneal edema, dispigmentation retina, optic atrophy, scotoma, cardiomyopathy, reduction of conductivity and contractility, violation of neuromuscular conduction, underweight, alopecia, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric pain, aplasticheskaya anemia, agranulocytosis, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, gemoliticheskaya anemia (in patients with deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase), Dermatitis, allergic reactions.

Cooperation.

Strengthens side effects of glucocorticoids, salitsilatov, hinidinopodobnyh antiarrhythmics, gemato-, scarp- and neurotoxic agents.

Overdose.

Symptoms: headache, dizziness, vision changes, cardiovascular failure, various conduction disturbances, ventricular arrhythmias, disorders of consciousness.

Treatment: Multiple gastric lavage (to clean wash water), appointment of activated carbon, maintaining vital functions.

Dosing and Administration.

Inside. Malaria: first day 0,8 g and through 6-8 h = 0,4 g; on the second and third day — on 0,4 g once. Rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, collagenoses: 0,2 g 2 once a day.

Precautions.

Throughout the course requires a constant monitoring of the function and cellular composition of the blood.
