Characteristic.
The white crystalline powder. Insoluble in water, bad - in alcohol.
Pharmacological action.
Hypoglycemic.
Application.
Diabetes mellitus type 2 in patients with middle and old age if you can not only compensate for glycemic diet.
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity (incl. a sulfanyl- and etc. sulьfonamidam); prekomatosnoe and coma; diabetes, complicated by acidosis and ketoacidosis; diabetes mellitus type 1; Pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Contraindicated. At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding.
Side effects.
Metabolism: rarely - hypoglycemia.
From the digestive tract: rare - loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia.
Other: seldom - a headache, allergic skin reactions (dermatitis), itch, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia.

Effect increase phenylbutazone, chloramphenicol, tetracikliny, coumarin derivatives, cyclophosphamide, sulfonamides, MAO inhibitors, thiazide diuretics, beta-blockers, salicilaty, alcohol, weakening - oral contraceptives, chlorpromazine, sympathomimetic, corticosteroids, thyroid hormones, preparations, containing nicotinic acid. Compatible with biguanidami.
Overdose.

Dosing and Administration.
Inside, before eating, at an initial dose 15 mg dose (morning); then gradually increase the dose (no more 120 mg / day) and the multiplicity of reception (optionally up 3 time).
Precautions.
