Characteristic.

The paramagnetic contrast agent for MRI.

Pharmacological action.
Contrast.

Application.

MRI of the brain and spinal cord (cranial and spinal MRT) (to enhance the contrast of the image):

– for the detection of tumors, incl. small and poorly rendered, tumor recurrence after surgical or radiation treatment, metastases;

– for the differential diagnosis of suspected meningitis, acoustic neuroma, tumor, infiltrative grow into surrounding tissue (eg glioma);

– for the differential diagnosis of these rare tumors, how haemangioblastoma, ependymoma, pituitary adenoma small, and to improve visualization of intracranial spread of tumor.

Additionally in spinal MRI:

– for the differential diagnosis of intra- and extramedullary tumors ranging;

– to determine the size sólidnyh spinal cord tumors;

– to identify the prevalence of intramedullary tumors.

Contrast enhancement during MRI of the whole body, namely the study of the facial skull, neck, thoracic and abdominal cavities, Breast Cancer, Pelvic, musculoskeletal and vascular imaging of the whole body:

– to detect tumors, inflammation, vascular lesions;

– to determine the extent and boundaries of the tumor, inflammatory focus, vascular damage;

– for the differential diagnosis of the structure of pathological formations;

– to assess blood supply in normal and diseased tissue;

– for the differential diagnosis of tumors and scar tissue after therapy;

– for relapse prolapsed intervertebral disk after surgery;

– for simultaneous semi-quantitative assessment of renal function and visualization.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity.

Renal failure, pregnancy.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Side effects.

In rare cases,: nausea, vomiting, a small transient increase in bilirubin and iron in the blood, short-term change in taste, allergic reactions (possible anaphylactic shock), feeling of warmth or pain at the injection site.

Dosing and Administration.

B /, in the supine position, 0,2 ml / kg (optionally up 0,6 ml / kg).

Precautions.

Be wary appoint patients, prone to allergic reactions.
