Betadine suppositories – Pharmacological action

Antiseptic and disinfectant. When released from the complex with polyvinylpyrrolidone in contact with skin and mucous membranes, Iodine forms a protein bacterial cells yodaminy, coagulates and causes the death of microorganisms. Has a bactericidal effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (except Mycobacterium tuberculosis), anaerobes.

It is active against bacteria, mushrooms, Virus, protozoa.

Suppositories are made on a water-soluble basis and do not irritate.

  • hyperthyroidism;
  • thyroid adenoma;
  • dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring;

  • Children up to age 8 years;
  • hypersensitivity to iodine and other components of the drug.
