Description of aseptic meningitis

- Some medications, such as ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs);
- Autoimmune diseases (eg, sarkoidoz, Behcet's disease);
- Cancer, that has spread to the meninges;
- Infection in the spinal cord.
Risk factors
Factors, which increase the risk of aseptic meningitis:
- Exposure to viral diseases;
- Working as a nanny or babysitter;
- Weakened immune system;
- Taking certain medications (eg, NSAIDs);
- Age: child or teenager (in children and adolescents occurs more frequently, than in adults).
Symptoms of aseptic meningitis
These symptoms may be caused by other serious diseases. When they occur, seek medical advice.
- Headache;
- Fever and chills;

- Sore throat;
- Fatigue;
- Rash;
- Muscle pain or abdominal;
- Confusion;
- Sensitivity to light;

Diagnosis of aseptic meningitis

Prevention of aseptic meningitis
