Pharmacological action
The combined agent for topical application, antibacterial and local anesthetic action. Neomycin sulfate – an aminoglycoside antibiotic with a wide spectrum of action, bactericidal action against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae) and Gram (Escherichia coli, Shigella dysentery spp., Shigella flexneri spp., Shigella boydii spp., Shigella sonnei spp., Proteus spp.) Microorganisms; against Streptococcus spp. – maloaktiven. Polymyxin B – polypeptide antibiotics. Active against gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Shigella dysentery spp., Shigella flexneri spp., Shigella boydii spp., Shigella sonnei spp., Salmonella typhi и Salmonella paratyphi; Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Activity against Proteus spp., Mycobacterium spp., Gram-positive cocci, mushrooms. It has weak local irritating effect. Lidokain – local anesthetic, quickly eliminates pain and itching.
Testimony
Acute and chronic otitis externa, chronic acute otitis media before and after perforation, chronic otitis media with suppuration; postoperative septic complications after radical mastoidectomy, Tympanoplasty, antrotomii, fenestration.
Contraindications
Giperchuvstvitelnost.C caution. Pregnancy, childhood (to 1 year).
Side effects
Hyperemia, itching and flaking of the skin of the outer ear canal.
Dosing and Administration
Locally. Adults – by 4-5 drip into the ear canal, 2-4 once a day, children – by 2-3 drop 3-4 once a day.
