Characteristic.

White or white with a slightly yellowish white powder. Practically insoluble in water, very slightly soluble in alcohol. Soluble in the aqueous solution of sodium carbonate.

Pharmacological action.
Antimicrobial.

Application.

Dysentery (acute and chronic under increasing), kolity, gastroenteritis; prevention of infectious complications in surgical interventions on the intestine.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity (incl. to other sulfonamides).

Side effects.

Systemic side effects, characteristic of sulfonamides, rare due to slight suction. Growth inhibition of E. coli decreases (may develop vitamin deficiencies) synthesis of vitamins B (thiamine, riboflavin, nicotinamide et al.). Allergic reactions (rash, fever, agranulocytosis, aplasticheskaya anemia) and etc.

Cooperation.

The effect of increasing antibiotics and sulfonamides are well absorbed.

Dosing and Administration.
