Pharmacological action

The antimicrobial agent broad spectrum for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections (intestinal antiseptic), nitrofuran derivative. In high doses has bactericidal action, smaller – bacteriostatic.

Active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.; Gram negative bacteria: Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Proteus spp.

Pharmacokinetics

Almost not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It acts in the lumen of the intestine.

Testimony

Acute diarrhea of ​​bacterial origin (in the absence of suspicion of infestation).

Dosage regimen

Adults – by 200 mg 4 times / day. Children aged 1 months before 2.5 years – by 100 mg 2-3 times / day; senior 2.5 years – by 200 mg 3 times / day. The duration of treatment – no more 7 days.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the derivatives nitrofuran.
