Characteristic.
Antacid.
Pharmacological action.
Antacidnoe, gastroprotective.
Application.
Gastric hyperacidity, heartburn, gastritis, peptic disease of the stomach and duodenum, reflux esophagitis, dyspepsia.
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity, violation of renal excretory function, childhood (to 6 years).
Side effects.
Belching, constipation; when taken in high doses can be diarrhea.
Cooperation.
Hydrotalcite reduces the absorption of tetracycline, iron supplementation, coumarin derivatives, chenodeoxycholic acid, cimetidine and digoxin (a break between doses should be 1-2 hours). It reduces the toxic effects of NSAIDs on the gastrointestinal tract.
Dosing and Administration.
Inside. Adults: 500-1000 mg 3-4 times a day, through 1-2 hours after meals and at bedtime. When gastric complaints or symptoms (pain, heartburn), dyspepsia is the need for 500-1000 mg once. Peptic ulcer-1000-2000 mg 4 twice a day for at least 4 Sun. Children 6-12 years appoint 1/2 the adult dose. The course of treatment is determined individually.
Precautions.
To achieve high efficiency of treatment should be combined with reception hydrotalcite PM, blocking acid production.
