Characteristic.

The white crystalline powder, bitter taste. Hygroscopic. Easily soluble in chloroform and dimethylsulfoxide, soluble in ethanol and very slightly soluble in water.

Pharmacological action.
Anthelmintic.

Application.

Trematodozы (klonorxoz, metagonimoz, opisthorchiasis, paragonimoz, fasciolasis, fasciolopsidoz, schistosomiasis, including gastrointestinal and genitourinary), tsestodozы (gimenolepidoz, difilloʙotrioz, teniarinhoz, tenioz), cysticercosis, nejrocisticerkoz.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity, Eye cysticercosis.

Restrictions apply.

Liver disease, Children up to age 4 years (no information on the safe use).

Pregnancy and breast-feeding.

It contraindicated in I trimester of pregnancy. In II and III trimester of possible, if the effect of therapy outweighs the potential risk to the fetus (adequate and well-controlled studies of the safety of not performed). When used during lactation should refrain from breastfeeding day receiving praziquantel and for the following 72 no (Praziquantel passes into breast milk, its concentration is 1/4 serum concentration).

Side effects.

Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea mixed with blood, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, increased sweating, allergic reactions (skin rashes, itch). Reported minimal increase in liver enzymes in some patients.

Dosing and Administration.

Inside, adults and children over 4 years. Dose, dosing frequency and duration of treatment is determined individually, with the pathogen.

Precautions.

In the case of cerebral cysticercosis patient must be hospitalized.

The treatment should be careful when driving and refrain from activities potentially hazardous activities, require high concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
